This statement piece features five natural pyrite cabochons set in fine silver. Pyrite is a stone which will create a spark when struck against steel, inspiring the name of this piece.

This settings and chain were fabricated using sterling silver sheet and wire. Each of the five stones is seated in a double layer setting with contrasting scratched and brushed finishes. Each setting is held together by six handmade rivets. The back of each pendant has a smooth scratched texture accented by the rivets and feels beautiful, warm and weighty against the chest. The fourth pendant in the chain is stamped with my maker’s mark on the back.

Each of the 74 links in the chain was made by hand and soldered closed. The chain moves beautifully and fastens with a hook closure. The silver has been oxidized to a gunmetal finish and has a light shine. This length of this piece is adjustable- maximum length is 18.75 inches, but the hook can close on any loop if shorter lengths are preferred. A substantial piece at over 76 grams in weight.
